"This is my first time on the podium in
a French Grand Prix and I am very happy, especially as I felt it wouldn't have been easy
to make a mistake. I do not think I could have pushed more than I did, but I did not feel
threatened by Gerhard because I knew he could not overtake me. I enjoyed not letting him
through - We have been together for five years and we are good friends, so I was able to
slow down and play some games with him at some places! The car felt very good from the
start, but I felt some problems at the rear during the race and that was why I could not
fight to keep Jacques behind me and I did not create any problems for him. I tried to
follow him, but I could not stay with him. For me, it was a good race and I am pleased
with the result." |
