Another Kansas album without Steve Walsh and with John Elefante on vocals. There were two of them actually, the other named Drastic Measures but I kind of prefer this one since there are a greater amount of good songs on it. Robby Steinhardt is alomst not appearant on the album. you just can't hear him anywhere, since he hasn't got any vocal solo parts and his violin playing has only some melodies. A minor detail of major importance. He should've been more there......

The introducing "Play The Game Tonight" is quite good, and so is "Right Away" but none of them sound as Kansas should have done with Steve Walsh as a writer insted of John Elefante. John is more of an AOR rocker than a Kansas rocker. "Chasing Shadows" is good piano ballad by John and his song writing brother Dino, but the really good starts out at the end of this album. "Bordeline", "Play On" and "Crossfire" are all really good songs and Kerry has of course been envolved in all of them. "Play On" is co-written with John.

A good album depending on how you look at it. If you haven't hear Kansas at all, I guess you'll think it's really good, but if you've got all those old classics "Leftoverture", "Point of Know Return" and "Song for America" I think you'll get disppointed. Meybe it's better to start with this album and then go from there.
