Ancient history of Kansas is the Two For the Show live album from -78. Just by looking at the playlist of this one, you can problably see that this is a killer. It would actaully be strange if you didn't own his one yet (being a Kansas fan then of course).
Introducing "Song for America" is the track that I think Kansas should start all their conserts with, and they did for a while, but nowaday that's no standard. Continue with "Point of Know Return" adn yo've already got what you've wanted. Great songs, gret performance and great live feel. Other track that stick out more than usual would be "Icarus - Borne on Wings of Steel", "Portrait", "Journey From Mariabronn", "Dust in the Wind", "The Wall" and of course "Magnum Opus" as the closing number with a bit different stuff than the studio version.
Steve Walsh is at the top of his career during these tours that ar collected on this album. It's not later than the Point of Know REturn album, and by that time he was jsut too good. One thing that's alwys fascinated me is that he's a really good keyboardist too, and ths is shown in his Piano solo (introducing "Lonely Wind"). He does some southern rock piano stuff, combined with progressivr times and moods. Very good! Kerry Livgren is also featuerd in an acoustic guitar solo which is really good too, introducing of course "Dust in the Wind"....
