Our breeding philosophy:

Our kennel device - which is included in our logotype but in Swedish- says "Windedos Aussies- more than brain". (It doesn't show in English, but in Swedish and how the words are spelled and pronouneced it is also a kind of play with words that can sound like "Windedos Aussies- love to have one".)  Still, the device for us is very much a goal and for us it means  that that our breeding is limited to dogs we really believe have the traits that deserves to be carried on. Brain is important and basic, but we also want the dog to have that special personality, trainability and power that differs a good dog from the average dog. We believe that  breeding based on dogs that are  just "good enough" seldom helps a breeder to develop a long time quality breed program, nor develops a breed. We do not think that our dogs are free from faults or 100% correct. Quite the opposite, during our more than 30 active years in the dog world we still have left to meet the perfect dog.  For us breeding is a long time committment where every step on the way is carefully valued and discussed, based on each dogs advantages and disadvantages.  That means we need to learn about each individual and their pedigrees.

Father and son:
Micke and Minos
(W. Master Mind)

Our priority is sound healthy dogs with high working capacity and instinct and with a construction and type that promotes the work they are  meant to do. We believe the home where the dog is placed is one important part of what the dog will accomplish, since the team work between a good dog and a good handler is important to reach results. But from our point of view that is just one part. A good handler with a dog that lacks abilities will be very limited. After owning, training and trialing working dogs for 30 years  our opinion is that the working capacity of the dog is founded through focused breeding. Then- in the next step - it will be up to the owner/ handler how far the team will reach. That was our opinion, based on experience, before we started our own breeding, and that is the opinion we in the future will strive to stay with.

Since working capacity and health are our main priorities we choose not to include dogs in our breed program who we  thinks doesn't fulfill our demands in thoses areas. We base our opinions on working our own dogs,  careful selection of males and extended research about the dogs we use, their pedigrees and related dogs.  If possible we also try to get a personal opinion about dogs we plan to use for example with AI, even though they live in other countries.

Our litters:  Now with info about planned litters, click here!

Litter 1: SBCH SLCH SUCH Mr Binks Tuxedo X Fairoaks Amaretto. Born 8 December 2000, 10 pups (5+5).

This cross was made based on Toxsy's proven capacity to work (once again- not livestock but our kind of working trials) and his great trainability, but also that the same traits are proven in other individuals in the litter he comes from. Also, Tam has shown capacity to work and pick up new things easily, she has a great interest for objects and grips easily anything we throw for her. She also has shown the kind of heart and brain which in our mind are important Aussie traits. Pups from Tams first litter in USA, and Toxsy's first litter,  aswell as pups from this litter have  started to show nice  results in varoius areas.

Litter 2: LPI The Mad Hatter of Imagineer CGC X LPI LPII KORAD Mr Binks Barefoot Nelly. Born 2 February 2001, 5 pups (1+4).

.

This is the first, of two, planned breedings who was the reason for us to import Mickey.

We made this cross based on Mickeys pedigree, his heart and positive view of life and training. Only five month after he left quarantine he made his trialing debute. He has been really easy to train, learns fast and he loves to fetch and carry things around. Another of his traits we wanted to accomplish in our breeding is his natural muscles,  something that isn't easy to find on a dog today. It makes him really agile and easy moving at the same time as it supports his body control.  Together with Nelly's pedigree and capacity, we hoped for pups that was really fun to work. We can start seeing signs of what we expected now, but we wait until we have more objective tests and trial results before we state anything about the outcome.

Litter 3: LPI The Mad Hatter of Imagineer CGC X Fairoaks Amaretto. Born 26 January 2002, 10 pups (5+5).

To the litter page!

With this combination we keept breeding towards our longtime goal; physicallly and mentally sound Aussies who reach our demands about working capacity based on the ASCA standard. If we were to follow what is usually done, we should now tell all about the fantastic traits we expect from these pups and alreday would have seen in them even though they are just youngsters. Since we prefer facts before fairy tales, we won't do that, but wait until we can take the pups through more objective tests and trials to be able to base our statements on real facts. So far we can see that they are openminded and easy to train aswell as eager to please. Seven has been tested on sheep at least twice and shown nice instinct and a pleasant behaviour around the stock. Several of the pups have been to shows with nice puppy- results, like BOB and BIS placements.

Litter 4: VCH WTCH CH Gabrielino's Charlie Chaplin PATDcs GS-O JS-O RS-N CGC DNA-VP X Fairoaks Amaretto.
Born 30 January 2003, 9 pups (5+4)

Chaps and Tam shares a lot of traits, like courage, good nerves, high drive without stress, a perfect "on-off"-button and a good social ability. It is what they have in common that was the reason for this breeding. In each of her former three litters, due to what competent herding people have told us, Tam has left pups who shows some herding instinct. We hope to be able to develop that even more with this cross. Except that, both Tam and Chaps have good structure with strong backs, good movements and the Aussie type that we prefer. We hope that Chaps correct front coming will develop the pups fronts since  Tam is moving a bit wide "coming".

Now when the pups are getting closer to 12 month we can start to see some of the traits we were hoping for and they start to show their abilities.  But still they are just young and deserve planty of time to mature.
