Executioner
Be
careful out there, Executioner is delivering the
blows! Mark Hall and Executioner have done an
extraordinary job besieging the competition in
this sport. In 1996, Mark and Executioner
captured the honor of being named "Team of
the Year," "Truck of the Year,"
and "Driver of the Year"--and he's just
getting started.Mark and Tim Hall, of Hall
Brothers Racing, Inc., used to have
four-wheel-drive street trucks, which they loved
to race. From there, it was just a natural
progression into the sport of monster truck
racing.Mark has been racing monster trucks since
1988. One of the things he likes best about the
sport is meeting new people and being around the
other racers. He also enjoys the venues he visits
around the world. Mark perceives that monster
truck racing has grown more sophisticated since
he started in the sport--and more expensive!
"Our first truck cost less than some of our
engines do now," he says. In looking ahead,
he predicts that the trucks will become safer and
more durable.Mark believes that people enjoy
monster truck racing because they like to watch
them tear things up. He says that anyone who's
ever been stuck in traffic can relate! If you
want to become involved in the sport, he suggests
that you join the MTRA as an associate member.
And to the kids, he advises, "Stay in
school. You wouldn't believe all the chemistry,
physics, math, and good communication skills you
need to do this!"
