This painting has a pretty funny background. I started working on another fantasy inspired picture of a woman standing inside a castle with a German shepherd at her feet. I skipped all 'pre production' work though and jumped straight onto the main picture... BIG misstake. Halfways through I stopped and looked at the picture and realized that it was crap - the colors were all too 'plastic', they did not melt together into a beutiful harmony but sat there like isolated islands on the paper.
I became so angry with myself that I immediately scrapped the project, started with the next I had been storing in the back of my mind. It took a little more than two days to complete from zero to finished - which is pretty fast IMHO. I also skipped one day of classes for this (yepp - I was THAT frustrated).
This digital image suffers from the same problems as some of the others - crappy scanning techniques making it all diffuse while in reality it isn't
