Activating Enhanced Full Rate (EFR)
*3370# activates EFR
#3370# deactivates EFR
Having it enabled will improve sound quality noticably, but decrease battery life by 5%
It will also only give some benefit when the service provider supports it.
Activating Half Rate (HFR)
*4720# activates HFR
#4720# deactivates HFR
Deactivating this increases battery life by about 30% but it dramatically reduces call
quality.
It also only works on software revision 3.14.
Checking Whether Your SIM Supports Clock Stopping
*#746025625#
This checks to see whether your SIM card supports clock stopping. Older SIM cards do not
and will substantially reduce
your battery life. In extreme cases, the effect of having a SIM which doesn't support
clock stopping can reduce the standby
time from 7 to 2 days! So if you have a SIM which doesn't support clock stopping then it
would be advisable to get it
changed.
Note: This only works with the very latest V5.24 revision Nokia 6110's.
