Apart from the Alfa Romeos there were some other makes in the field too. Some small Fiat (or was it an Abarth) passed by the audience with its rear bonnet lid wide open, presumably to cool the engine, or was it left open to gain some extra down force…? Perhaps the owner had switched the engine to a bigger one thus making it impossible to shut the lid, who knows? Maybe a question for the forum!
One of the absolutely fastest cars around was, I’m sorry to say, not an Alfa but a “British Racing Green” (what else) Lotus Super Seven or similar. (I wonder what it feels like driving in that kind of speed without a roof)? Another probably still faster vehicle seemed to be a blue racecar, with at least an Alfa V6 engine, if nothing else had an origin from Alfa Romeo parts.
At the parking lot I discovered, besides the overwhelming alfisti stuff, at least two remarkable Italians. One was a red Ferrari 308 GTB and the other was a white Maserati 222 belonging to my cousin Mattias. He picked me up for a little ride and I can tell you now what a 2.8 litre biturbo V6 engine with 225 hp and some 400+ Nm of torque can achieve!
