TALES FROM YESTERDAY
Written by Magnus Florin

One of the Magna Carta tributes, for a band that really deserve it. Yes has been there since the late 60's to inspire musicians that has stepped forward on the progressive scene of today. Some of them got the chance to show what Yes has meant to them on this album.

It's always interesting to hear Steve Morse in action, and especially when he's in the acoustic mood. As I see it, two of the best acoustic players of today are Morse and Howe, so it's quite a fun thing you've got going on this album, Morse covering Howe. One of the strongest tracks is Changes, covered by Enchant. Ever since I heard it for the first time, I've always thought that it's one of the best songs ever done by Yes. Of course it's a little bit different compared to Roundabout, Starship Trooper and all those oldies, but indeed quite as good. When it comes to beauty, there's a very harmonic version of "Turn of The Century" by Annie Haslam with Steve Howe on acoustic guitar. She, with her soft voice, does the song real justice.

An interesting album with a lot of great musicians, performing a lot of great songs. For fans of progressive rock and especially for Yes fans...
