This is a live album from an old Australian progressive rock band called,
Sebastian Hardie. In the intro track when the band is presented, they do
some noise with the instruments, which sounds just like the beginning of an
Genesis or Marillion concert. So I had good thoughts about it from the
beginning. Then the first track starts, and it's a total reminder of the
band Arena, but then again this is an old band so I guess it's more the
opposite. As the vocals enters I directly felt that I wanted to tie him to a
similarity with old Asia singer, John Wetton. Mario Millo (also guitars)
don't have the exact voice of Wetton, but also his own style it seems.
Songs are built up in the same way as old Marillion and Fish songs use to
be. Starts out easy with maybe just one guitar or so, and then building it up
to something above the extra. Very spacey feel to the band in general. This
is seventies progressive rock for sure, and with the bands two releases
in -76 and-76, Sebastian Hardie must have been the greatest progressive rock
band from Australia. I guess that type of music wasn't the most popular down
there at the time. But it's fully comparable with old Genesis and the likes.
This album was recorded Live in L.A at Progfest -94.
