Well, prepare to read a review about one of the best prog albums ever. The Swedish Pain of Salvation with their second album (first released though). Introducd by the calm and pieceful "Spirit of The Land", which brings us right into the deep dark world of Daniel Gildenlöw's poetry "Inside". In fact all lyrics of this album is absolutely superb. And the way Daniel performs with his vocals adds that feel necessary to them. Speaking of vocals, take the attitude and style of Mike Patton (Faith No More) and the power of Ronnie James Dio, or even any death singer sometimes, and occasionally add soft musical vocals and you've got sort of a grip on Daniel's voice. It seems like he can do exactly anything with it.

The music itself is really rough sometimes, or mostly maybe, but also holds very soft and melodic parts on both piano and acoustic guitars. In "Black Water" there's this obvious Kansas influence where PoS does a melody line mixed with another and then very, very emotional vocals added on top of it all. Just too good!

PoS is a very talented band and if you haven't heard them at all before, you better get your legs running now and check them out. One of the best bands ever.
