WORLDS AWAY
Written by Christian Axén

Outlander is a Milwaukee-based band consisting of three brothers, whom has been playing with each other for ten years. Chris Walczak plays the bass guitar, keyboards and sings the lead vocals. Marty Walczak plays drums and percussion and the third brother is Scott, who plays the acoustic and electric guitars. 'Worlds Away' is Outlander's three-song demo CD. The music could be described as progressive rock, inspired by ordinary hard rock. Pink Floyd and Rush are the biggest musical inspirations, but Black Sabbath also seems to be one of the bigger influences. The disc starts out with the title track 'Worlds Away', which is a most complex, constantly changing song. Really brilliant is the next song titled 'Now', with many tempo changes, cool guitar-riffs and an excellent melodies. 'Inside', is the third track, which offers the Black Sabbath sound: slow-tempo and remarkable heavy guitars. The narrative lyrics, great musicianship and good songs make 'Outlander' a band, which we probably will hear more of in the future.
