Mike Keneally is most known for his work with Frank Zappa. He has
appeared on many Frank Zappa albums, and it takes a hell of
musician to be working with him. And boy, can he play!. He's main
instruments are guitar, keyboards and vocals.
The Frank Zappa influences are very obvious on this album. As a
big fan of Frank Zappa I'm glad that Mike Keneally is carrying his
musical tradition further. It's weird, it's experimental, it's
funny, but I think it's leaning most of all to pop.
I've got many favourite tracks on this album, and some of them are
"Potato", "Why Am I Your Guy?", "Looking For Nina", "Chatfield
Manor" and "Beautiful". I love the opening lyrics to "Chatfield
Manor":
"There's a place where I go
When I go to a place
That's just the kind of place I go to
I'd like to be there now"
This is a album for all of you out there who is missing Frank
Zappa as much as I do, and want something in the same vein.
Keneally is soon going to release his new solo album "Milk Blood
Tuna".
