I don't think this was the intention of Finneus Gauge, but when I listen to many of their songs I get the feel of paranoia. Especially in the first track, "Open Up the Fog Lines", I see a psychedelic woman in front of me grieving for her life and pain. Well, maybe that's just me.
The musicians in FG are all well educated on their instruments. It sounds good. The vocals of Laura Martin are really stiff and cool, and at the same time very good. Very positive to hear the drummer, John Buzby get the groove going. As I said before, the music is really psychedelic and this is often showed in the instrumental middle parts. Cool, I don't know what the influences of the band are, but I sure can sense some YES occasionally. Maybe there's some King Crimson too, but in general it's kind of hard to tell. Finneus Gauge, with their own sound.
