Ok, I haven't actually heard too much King Crimson, but critics say that this is in the same direction. The stuff I've heard from them reminds a lot of Discipline, that's for sure. Discipline is dark moody progressive music. It's not too often that there's a steady beat in their music, but instead fascinating rhythms, vocals and melodies can be found. It's really interesting listening to them.
The vocals in this band are provided by the songwriter Matthew Parmenter, who also contributes on the album with keyboards, violin, alto saxophone and orchestra chimes. He used to use costumes on stage, just like Peter Gabriel used to do back in Genesis.
The album contains only four songs, but still with a total playtime of over 50 minutes. That's one of the characteristics of progressive rock. This is a great CD.
