The third release from the german progressive band Avalon. The first thing I thought of when playing this CD was the enourmous power and aggressivness in the music. Very tight and brutal, but still kind of peaceful, with great guitar riffs. New vocalist Chitral had that power too but I also discovered similarites with Klaus Meine (Scorpions), and that is definately not a negative thing. Chitral is a lot more 90's kind of a singer. After listening to "Vision Eden" I immediately put on "Taken By Force" by the Scorpions.
There are a lot of good songs and arrangements on this album but to point out a few, "They Are In Between Us", "Lord of Dignity", "Age of Salvation", "Dancing With The Devil". The last mentioned is really cool, with dark and heavy vocals in the verse and lyrics featuring a bunch of bands (?). The first verse goes "...morbidangelcrematory pestilenceblacksabbathfight...". Really cool! "Age of Salvation" features the beautiful Petra in a skillful bass-solo. A highlight to put it right.
