I started the rescue diver, mfa course in early September. We had theory 1 till 2 times/week and at the same evening we made the practise in the pool. I found out that it was harder than I expected but also more fun than you would think. I took the course mostly because my daughter who became 12 years old in late September is getting a junior open water divers certificate. She will start her course at the 11 of October and she will be certified at the 3 of November. Let's hope there is no ice on the lake by then...
Well back to the rescue course, the senario we had was to find a lost diver, get him up from the water and to start CPR. We did almost everything right but a few things could have been better. We managed to find him and get him to a "simulated" ambulance within 30 min and then he was recovered and back to life.

We also had to dive from a rescue raft to pick up an unconscious diver and tow him back to the boat and get him up into it, which was very heavy.

Some final words has to be, if you haven't taken the rescue course, don't hesitate to do it, it's worth it in a long run.

Some pictures from the event.
