Let's go back to 1979. A nineteen-year-old girl just got the feeling, that she needed a dog of her own. A pure bred American Cocker Spaniel, just like the one she saw in a colored wrap. Here is the picture.

I was stunned, amazed and at once in love with the breed. What an outline, what character, what type and style, my lifetime love had just arrived!

After a few months of searching, I was able to get in touch with a lady, who had some puppies for sale. That lady was Inger Henriksson, from Kalix in the north of Sweden. She had a litter of black puppies, from which I chose, "Woodcraft's Go Ahead" and named her "Ginger".

  In a parking lot in Umeå, on a cold winter night in February 1981, she snuggled her nose into my hair, for the very first time, and instantly become the LOVE OF MY LIFE.

Oh, how I missed that little girl! Ginger was the joy of my life. We shared "cheese doodles" on the sofa, "one for her and one for me". Ginger became a great bitch. Giving birth to my 'super male', " SUCH., NUCH., INTUCH., Roadmaster's R.E.O." - " Benke" was her final triumph.

One of only a few dogs, to gain the title "SUCH",witch in these days required a field trial merit here in Sweden.

We did hunt over him, after he received his Field Trial merit. He was very smart, in his way of finding birds. A great Gun Dog and I do miss him a lot.

Time slipped away and left me in need of a new foundation bitch for my kennel. After many months of research, I finally found a kennel, where I hoped to obtain this paragon of virtue … a foundation bitch.

"DISODIL'S COCKERS" was that kennel. I found, that in the areas of testing and the keeping of accurate records on inherited eye diseases of the American Cocker Spaniel, Disodil's Cockers had an unsurpassed record in Sweden.

I SALUTE YOU, MAGDALENA.

I was amazed to find a person, who was and still is so totally dedicated to improving the health of the American Cocker Spaniel. Magdalena offers a GREAT DATABASE, on the health status of her dogs' eyes. With a record of more than 40 % of her dogs having had their eyes checked, I know, that I can relay on this breeder.

Magdalena you are truly a 'tribute' to our breed.
