Drikung Kagyu Lineage TOP

Drikung Kagyu Lineage is one of the Kagyu lineages which was founded about 850 years ago, by the enlightened spiritual master Kyoba Jigten Sumgon (1143-1217). Teachings came directly from Buddha Shakyamuni and the primordial Buddha, Vajradhara and were handed down to Gampopa (1079-1153) through fully enlightened masters such as Tilopa, Naropa, Marpa, and Milarepa. Gampopa in turn gave all these teachings to Phagmodrupa (1100-1170). Jigten Sumgon was one of the closest and chief disciples of Phagmodrupa. After receiving all the complete teachings from Phagmodrupa, Jigten Sumgon then gave them all to his chief disciple, Gurawa Tsultrim Dorje (1154-1221). All these enlightened energies, blessings and teachings were then handed down unbroken to the present 37th and 36th lineage holders, His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche who lives in Dehra Dun, India and His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chungtsang Rinpoche who lives in Tibet. The Drikung is known for its Great Phowa Practice and great meditators. There are many stories about those who have attained Enlightenment in one lifetime. Other recent great Drikung Kagyu meditators include Pachung Rinpoche, Kungha Rinpoche, Garchen Rinpoche, Tenzin Nima Rinpoche, H.E. Druwang Rinpoche, Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche and H.E. Ontul Rinpoche.

Ratnashri Meditation Center TOP

Ratnashri Meditation Center is a nonprofit organization which was established 1997 by Venerable Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche. The purpose of the Center is to promote Buddha’s precious teachings (the Dharma) by providing opportunity for Dharma practitioners to study and practice, and progress on the Dharma path according to the Drikung Kagyu Lineage of the Vajrayana Tibetan Buddhism. Our great lineage masters such as Vajradhara, Tilopa, Naropa, Marpa, Milarepa, Gampopa and Lord Jigten Sumgon showed us the Path to Enlightenment. Venerable Khenchen Rinpoche has been visiting the Center regularly since 1997 to give public talks and programs for Dharma practitioners. Many of us were deeply moved and inspired by his heartfelt teachings. The Center is the organizer for Khenchen’s European tour. The Center has hosted visits by H.H. Chetsang Rinpoche, H.E. Druwang Rinpoche, Venerable Lama Jampa Rigzin and Venerable Doctor Lobsang Wangyal. We are very grateful for their precious Dharma teachings. We are honored to have H.H. Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche again to our Center during September 2002.  The Center is primarily open on Sundays for strengthening the practice of ngöndro and Dharma study. Our newsletter, Ratnashri Newsletter is published regularly in both English and Swedish to support our Dharma practitioners, to remind, inspire and arouse enthusiasm in the precious Dharma teachings and in the participation of the Center’s Dharma activities.

Dedication

By the innate roots of virtues, may all sentient beings seek omniscience without ever retreating.
While being in the various realms of existence, may their minds be undisturbed.
May they be able to liberate all sentient beings.
May they never stained by compounded things.
May they never lose unimpeded knowledge.
May their fulfillment of causes and conditions of enlightening beings' practices and stages be inexhaustible.
May worldly things cannot change or move them.
May they fulfill the pure awareness of transcendence.
May they be able to accomplish all knowledge and power.
