A letter from Venerable Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche
June 22, 2000
Many prayers and warm regards to members and friends of our Center. Even though this year I cannot come and see you all in Sweden (due to my busy schedule with many other places), I think of you often and say prayers for your good health and success in study and practice of the precious Dharma teaching. We had a spring retreat for 16 days in Tibetan Meditation Center, Maryland, USA. Many people came from different parts of this country. Zabrina and Lars are among them. This is the first year of our five-year program. Many people expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude for this program which allows each individual enhancing his/her experience on meditation practice. I taught and led the meditation in the first 10 days, and the following 5 days the retreat was led by Druwang Rinpoche, who is exceptionally appreciated by his simple and insightful teachings which manifest from his compassion and wisdom.
Our life is not that long and whether we are rich or poor, life will still pass by. But we need peace and joy in everyone's heart whether rich or poor, educated or uneducated. Because of this, everyone keeps busy in his/her field to create more happiness and free from suffering. But for those who know the Dharma teaching - the precious Buddha's teaching, it gives us an opportunity to open the door of wisdom to know the cause of peace and the cause of suffering. Dharma is there when we need it most if we do have some experience of Dharma practice. Therefore, I urge everyone here making your effort to implement precious Dharma in your life. I know that Zabrina and Lars are dedicated in their lives to make Dharma teaching available to those who are interested in it. I ask for your support in different ways, whatever they need and whatever you can do. I hope to see you all sometime next year.
Sincerely yours in the Dharma,
Khenpo
