Männiku Tee is about 6 kilometres from the centre of Tallinn. Traffic is quite heavy. Along the street there are some one-family houses, but also apartments. Hre, at Männiku Tee 92, The Social rehabilitation centre (Sotsiaalse Rehabilitatsiooni Keskus, SRK) runs a shelter for homeless people and released convicts on their way back into society. Bottom floor is the after school-work for some russian children in the area. Avo Üprus is the leader of this work too. The house is an old prison.

Tee a day in april 2001. Straight ahead you get to the centre of
Tallinn.
The Estonian state pays SRK for this shelter and other shhelters they have for the same purpose around Estonia. The budget has been cut, so now it is hard to meet the demands and needs. Nothing is allowed to happen...
but it can do it anytime. The roof is not in mint condition. Wood-parts is rotening, here and there is free sky, there is no isolation. But there is a good will and good hope to solve the problems with support from inside and outside of Estonia.
