Conception - In Your Multitude

The best album from the best norwegian band. My first impression from Conception was Tores’ guitar style featured in of one the heavier songs. I didn’t knew what it was I was hearing then, but I said to my friend who was with me, "Now it depends on the singer", and what was at stake? Was I gonna love this band and start buying their records? When I heard Roy, with his soft and accurate voice, I did....

I think that Tore has found a style of his own when it comes to the guitar. Not many combines his trash riffs with such feel and emotion. And then there’s his solo play, with extremely obvious influences from the old guitar fox, Al DiMeola. I think that Tore is the one who has used this influence in the best way possible, if you compare with other influenced guitarists of today, like Malmsteen and Petrucci.

Thanks to both Tore and Roy, there’s really not one bad song in this maraculous album. Roy has an ability to make the whole thing interesting. And when that doesn’t help, Tore is there to do it for him. Arve Heimdal is one great drummer too, and sometimes even a little wicked. A perfect progressive drummer. Favourites on the album would be tracks 1, 5 and 6. These three songs are without any more explanation, superb....

3. Retrospect
4. Guilt
