The only album that Udo Dirkscneider don't do the vocals on. His place had been taken by David Reece, and this because of Udo's departure. Accept felt that they were to direct their music more towards the commercial metal scene in USA, and that wasn't the deal for Udo, so he left. I know he said he wanted to do metal like they did in the beginning, just like on the "Breaker" album. But instead here's David Reece then, and I dont' have anything against him, which is problaby why I really like this album. Some fans totally rejected this one, just because of the missing piece... Udo.
Introducing track is a great one to start with, which starts out witha solo spot by Wolf. The song start out heavy as steel, with Reece on maximum performance. His voice is a lot like David Lee Roth's kind of singing. I don't like Roth, I must say, but Reece is OK for me. Favourite tracks on this album would be "Chain Reaction", "Hellhammer", "Prisoner", "I Can't Believe In You", "Mistreated" (not the old Purple track) and "Stand 4 What U R".
All these tracks are among the best Accept has ever done, I think. Not in the same way as old "Princess of the Dawn" for example, but in a hardrock way, simply. No track on this album is magic like those old Udo tracks, but they are great songs for what they are. You can't go into this album with the attitude that Udo is everything and the rest is nothing. This is a great album if you look at it from an objective point of view.
