Welcome to my TRX page, dedicated to the Yamaha TRX 850.
The Yamaha TRX 850 was first released in Japan in -95, and in Europe in -96. A bike that has a truly individual character, with its steel trellis frame and the parallel twin engine. The light weight and torqey engine combined with a very relaxed riding position makes it great fun to ride on twisty roads. The DOHC engine has 5 valves per cylinder, dry sump lubrication and two balancer shafts. It has an uneven firing sequence of 270º, derived from the 360º engine used in the TDM 850. A 750 version first appeared -89 in the XTZ "Super Ténéré" (the bike that S. Peterhansel has taken to several victories in the Paris-Dakar rally).
My bike is a -96 model, first registered in aug. -97. Since then i have ridden it for about 25000km, mostly on weekend rides around the Stockholm area. I also try to go to race track meetings a couple of times a year. In -99, I have been to Gellerasen in Karlskoga, and to Sviestad in Linkoping. They both regularly arrange track meetings for the public.
Come closer.... Look....
Now repeat after me: I want a TRX......I want a TRX.....
As with every other bike, it doesn't take long before you want to change and personalize things. With a few simple modifications on the suspension and on the exhaust and intake systems, the handling and engine characteristics can be improved.
