Background

Midot Software Ek. för is an economic association which was founded in the autumn 1998. The origin of the company was a school project at Chalmers University of Technology in which we developed a mouse-training program for children with autism. Since this program was very well received we decided to continue with developing it.

History and important events

Fall 1997 The project Computer systems for children with autism at the Computer Science program at Chalmers University of Technology started. In co-operation with Rebeckaskolan (a school for children with autism in Gothenburg, Sweden) design guidelines for a program is created.
Februari 1998 A first prototype to the program Musbus(Mouse-fun in swedish) is shown to teachers from the Rebeckaskolan. The program is adjusted along with the teachers wishes.
April 1998 Musbus is installed at the Rebeckaskolan and tested (with positive result) by students.
Maj 1998 The project is concluded and the the most recent version of the program is installed at the Rebeckaskolan. The program is now used on a daily basis.
Fall 1999 Midot Software is created to continue developing the program. Eventually this will result in a commercial product.
May 1999 The project is presented at CHI '99 (Conference on Human Computer Interaction) in Pittsburgh, USA.
