    Rating:
Metal legends Manowar's debut album and the first thing you hear when putting it on is a roaring sound, like from a motorcycle or something like that and you think "oh yeah, how cool!" NOT. Then there's a pretty promising riff, but the song "Death tone" has no speed or even heaviness whatsoever, just downright boring. So you skip the track. But then a great riff comes right at ya, and Eric Adams with his characteristic voice sings some really classic lines:
"I hear the sound, in a metal way. I feel the power, rolling off the stage. Cause only one thing really sets me free. Heavy metal, loud as it can be"
"Metal daze" isn't Manowar's greatest song ever but it's pretty ok and one of the better on this album. Of the following songs I only find something good in these: the classic "Manowar", the very heavy "Dark avenger" & "Battle hymns", a really heavy piece and one of Manowar's best songs ever.
Concerning Manowar's music, it's pure and simple heavy metal, sometimes faster sometimes slower and the vocalist Eric Adams he sings with a very clean and strong voice which I prefer but he does some screaming also although it's (mostly) great and asskicking, but sometimes.. I dunno. A pretty good debut, could've been a lot better though.
