History

I was very fond of the type of whippet produced by Ch Wingedfoot Marksman of Allways and his offspring, particulary the Harque whippets. I still think Ch Harque The Lark is one of the best whippets ever bred. In 1968 I bought Ravensheugh Belita, a small, elegant fawn bitch with very good movement. "Jill" had the same sire as Lark and carried several lines to Marksman as well as to another important stud dog - Ch Pilot Officer Prune. Jill's maternal grandfather, Ballagan William Wallace, a strong, sound, very fast dog was litter brother to the Ballagan champions Prince Charlie and Annie Laurie.

Jill was a small bitch, 44 cm. She got her racing license quickly and was very fast,
but due to two accidents she could never be raced or shown.
