Magnus Hultqvist - drums

Magnus was born in Yxnanäs outside Tingsryd in 1970. At an early stage of his life, at the age of 13, he began to play the drums. He has played in various bands over the years, and the first band he joined was The Firecats from Rävemåla. They played music influenced by the 50s and the 60s. He was a member of this band for four years and he played with them between 1983 and 1987. Magnus left The Firecats in 1987 and in 1988 he joined another band. After several changes of name the band finally came up with the catchy name, Slide on this. They started out as a cover band, mainly doing material by ZZ Top, the Rolling Stones and The Cult. After a couple of years they began writing and performing their own material and in 1995 they released a CD single called Let’s Play Ball. Slide on this split up in 1998.

Bands like the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers and AC/DC can be considered as being Magnus´ major musical influences. He uses Tama Superstar drums and cymbals by the brand Zildjian and Sabian.
