This place is for people who have mental disorders or neuropsychiatric conditions. Examples are depression, bipolar, personality disorders, anxiety, panic, autism, Asperger's and ADD. We also welcome people with other mental illness and nameless feelings of despair and distress. Our goal is to make this a good spot for discussing mental/neuropsychiatric health issues, for support and a place where you can hang out and just be yourself.

Rules, guidelines and suggestions!

We like to keep the rules simple and you will find them less strict than on many other support sites.

Chat rules:

§ We ask that you treat each other with respect. Keep the communication straight, take responsibility for what you say. Try to include everyone who wishes in the conversation. We want to keep the chat room friendly and free from discourtesy, mind games and bullying.

§ This is not a dating chat. Don't hit on fellow chatters. There are plenty of dating rooms on the Internet, so we felt there is no need to have those topics here.

§ We allow discussing triggering subjects. Triggering subjects are for example: suicide, self injury and drug abuse. If you feel that you are easily triggered it's your own responsibility to remove yourself from chat, or kindly ask for a change of subject. Of course it's not allowed to encourage anyone to harm themselves or threaten self harm as a way of manipulating or punishing the room.

§ It's allowed to rant and express emotion as long as it doesn't include attacking fellow chatters. We also allow a certain amount of bad language.

§ Please don't use annoying colors like yellow, lime green or red.

§ The room moderators have the right to kick disturbing members, but notice there aren't many long term bans set. We tend to deal with situations as they appear rather than following strict rules.

§ You also have to follow the rules of Ircstorm which are stated in their MOTD.

The rules are not random. They came out past issues in chat, this one and others.

Me!

The creator of this place is me, Ripley. I am a 38 year old "female" (a lot of gender dysphoria here) with chronic depression (possible bipolar type II), Asperger's syndrome, ADD traits, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and some panic disorder. I also deal with long term physical illness.
