Never heard of this Los Angeles based band before, until I heard a song ("Salty Dog") on a compilation album. And after that I just had to buy the whole album...
So what is this? It's just like The Poughes but filled with more power and energy. And for you who don't know what I am talking about: it's Irish! Not metal, just pure Irish folk rock with a heavy and faster touch. Just listen to the song "Devils Dance Floor" and you wont be able to stand still. This is a nice break in the metal madness...
So, get happy for a moment or two and listen to Flogging Molly!

THE FORSAKEN
Arts of Desolation
These Swedish guys surley knows how to make ordinary death metal. Fast, brutal and furiuos guitars. As it should be. So is this band trying to make something of their own, something original? No. They follow the road as so many other death/thrash bands do nowadays. And thats the way I like it....But listen to the whole album at once is quite boring after a couple of songs. But one song here and there is just perfect. Songs like the opening one "Incubator" for example.
So for those out there who are looking for new, breaking death metal. Dont look for The Forsaken. They do it the after a well-tried formula. But that is sometimes the only way to do great music...
