-- 2002 best albums releases --
1. Opeth - "Deliverance"
- No doubt. This is THE album of the year! "Deliverance" will probably
fit in the 2003 list as well...and the year after that...and...
2. Dark Tranquility - "Damage Done"
- Better than Haven! With more power, more strength and more of everything they
once again release a killer album.
3. Lake of Tears - "The Neonai"
- A dreamland and Lake of Tears. All you ever need... This is a nice break in
the death metal hysteria...
4. Tiamat - "Judas Christ"
- The ultimate gothrock album.....ever! Well, maybe not, but for those who are
tired at HIM's love metal may find some trust in Tiamat.
5. Primordial - "Storm before calm"
- This is the soundtrack of the Fall....Do not miss this! Primordial keeps on
growing. I can hardly wait for the next album.
6. Satyricon - "Volcano"
- This is an excellent show in modern black metal art! Mix "Rebel Extravaganza"
and "The Shadowthrone" and you have "Volcano". A perfect
mix that cannot fail!
7. Hate Eternal - "King of all Kings"
- Total Terror!!! No mercy, so fast and so damn nice! The only death metal album
you ever need.
8. Emperor - "The Discipline of Fire and Demise"
- A Journey's end....More than ten years of excellent black metal are now over.
But if they finished as they started, this album would be a number one!
9. Immortal - "Sons of Northern Darkness"
- The Winterdemons are still going strong! And probably the only band that still
can wear corpsepaint without making fools out of them self's...
10. Manowar - "Warriors of the World"
- Born of Black winds, Fire and steel! Manowar are still the Kings of Metal,
even if we had to wait a while...
Overall, 2002 was a very good music year, with lots of great releases. Do bad
Emperor and (probably) Immortal stopped delivering evil...
