| I started out playing with a band called Fatal Smile 1987 or something, and 1992 we released the cd "Left in a shadow", produced and recorded by Daniel Bergstrand (Messhuggah, SYL..). That was our first album and Daniel's first job as producer on his own. With that record (wich must be the worst disc ever been released :) we started to get gigs, and soon we where touring Sweden. We did some cool gig's, we were the opening act for Tower of Power in Finland but after we renamed ourselves to Silhouette, that was one of the best gig's I've ever done (probably cos´of the 20 000 finns in the crowed). :)> Anyway...the band broke up, and i signed for a swedish record label called S.P.T records, as a songwriter/solo artist. The music style was commercial hard rock, and the goal was to reach the Japanese market. | |
| ( I have to write down a few lines about S.P.T Records. This label is owned by Dag Carlsson and this guy is the main reason that im still working with music.. He took me under his wing´s when I was 16 years old, and encourage me to grow as a person and musician. Dag and S.P.T has been and will always be in my heart for all they have done... Thanx Dagge! ) | |
| I
started writing on my solo album and we did some recordings, but after a
while I asked to be released from my contract as I felt that what I was
doing wasn't right for me at that time..."at the same time Mayadome asked
their vocalist Björn to leave the band"... One day the former keyboard player
in Mayadome Jonas Hägg ran in to me and asked if I was Bassel, the guy that
sang in the Dream Theater coverband Terra´s View?.. and soon I was in the
Mayadome rehearsal studio for audition. 5 min. later I had the job as the
throat in Mayadome, wich was perfect, a good band, good musicians and I
didn't have a band at that moment. Now 2 years later im still in Mayadome
and I really love singing in this band, and will probably sing with these
guys for the rest of my carrier, but im back in those thought's of doing
a solo album. I just started writing on just that, and the thought is that
I and Joakim March (Glenn Hughes, Spellbound) will write the music, and at the recording of the album we´ll use as many good musicians as possible, both well known and unknown guys... |

| I come from a musician family, my father Faraj is a brilliant musician with a voice of an angel. All my brothers an´sisters has also talent for music... my brother Samir got his first drum set when he was 6 years old, and 6 months later he could jam some blues with me...watch out drummers!! in a couple of years he´s gonna´ whip your ass!! My grandfather is a famous clarinetist, he has toured most countries in europe, and my uncle Hannu (who was the one that introduced me to Yngwie Malmsteen´s all cd´s) used to be a outstanding guitarist. Now he has put the guitar a side for shooting pool?! (..hmm.. I guess he hasn't heard that all sports are nothing but dangerous for you). My grandmother Sylvi´s paintings are famous worldwide and can be seen in most museums in Finland. | |
