The Fjärås Spreader is a convenient, easy-to-use machine for local bodies, property and estate maintenance companies, cementeries, golf courses and many others.
Created for use by a single operator, the simplicity and strength of its patended design add superior reliability and a long service life.

In the winter
the Fjärås Spreader is used for ensuring a non-skid surface on roads, pavements or paths, using grit, grit and salt, salt, or stone chips. Because the Spreader is mounted on the rear of the vehicle, it can be used for grit spreading and snowploughing simultaneously.

In the summer
the Fjärås Spreader can be used for applications such as top dressing.

ATTACHMENT
For agricultural tractors the Fjärås Spreader is attached directly to the three-point likage. An adaptor is available for attaching the Spreader to compact tractors and wheeled loaders.

The hydraulic cylinder used to control the Spreader is connected to the push-rod mounting of the tractor.

DRIVE
The Fjärås Spreader takes its power from a wheel pressed against one of the rear wheels of the tractor - an ingeniously simple drive method.
The advantage of taking the power directly from one of the tractor wheels is that the amount of material spread per square metre is constant, no matter what the speed of the spreading vehicle. This drive system works equally well when standard snow chains are in use.

An alternative power source is hydraulic drive.

FILLING
The Fjärås Spreader is filled up, by first lowering the entire Spreader and then simply reversing it into the pile of grit or other material. The Spreader is then raised and spreading can begin. The Spreader is raised and lowered for loading with the aid of a single-acting hydraulic cylinder.
The same cylinder is used to stop and start spreading. All operations are controlled from the driver's seat with no need for manual assistance on the ground, making the Spreader ideal equipment for one-person operations.

SPREADING
Adjusting the material feed rate is quick and convenient. The material is spread from a drum, and the feed rate depends upon the size of the bosses on the drum and on the pressure of the rubber sheet against the feed drum. The bosses are easy to change, and are available in the sizes 6, 8 and 10 mm.
Spreading is equally efficient when the vehicle is being reversed. Equipment to close off half of the spreading width is available as an optional accessory. This too is controlled from the driver's seat, and provides a fast method of economising on spreading material where necessary.
