| 1997, Södermalm,
Stockholm MC Petter took his demotapes around the capital’s record labels,
after deciding to make a bid for a deal.
Firmly convinced that he would make it, Petter finally landed on a deal
with BMG’s Ricochet, which became the fortunate label to launch the career
of this enormously successful artist. Not only making a name for himself,
the success of Petter has also made the popularity of Swedish language
hiphop rise significantly, reestablishing a platform for this form of rap,
once innovated by Norra Botkyrka’s legendary Latin Kings. On "Maktens höjder"
he breaks down his opinions on the complexity of today's society, and on
"Sthlm del 2" Petter teams up with Serlock members, Pee Wee, a true hiphop
disciple who’s been in the game for 15 years, both as an MC and a b-boy
dancer, and Props to Thomas Rusiak, for he does great hardcore battle rhymes. |
