Rhapsody was formed in a small Italian town in 1993, the manifestation of founder Luca Turilli`s dream to create a powerful symphonic metal band combining the classical music that is his passion with the melodic metal music that he so enjoys playing. Joining Luca early on, while the band was still knowed by its original name of Thundercross, were keyboardist Alex Staropoli and drummer Daniel Carbonera. Together, these musicians formed a bond that has held through all the years of hard work, in writing, recording, rehearsing, performing, and promoting their band. Changing vocalists and bass players has not deterred these core band members from achieving the success that they have been working towards since the beginning. With the recent addition of vocalist Fabio Lione, Rhapsody is forging headlong into the future, and the stunning strength of their debut album "Legendary Tales" is a testament to the synergy of this union. Filling their songs with medieval tales of enchanted lands and proud figures on the quest of conquer evil, Luca and his bandmates have created both musically and lyrically an intense musical drama with a positive message. To complement these epical fantasy themes, the music of Rhapsody is an intricately woven blend of melodic heavy metal combined with baroqueinspired movements, choral harmonies, folk influences, percussion, dynamics, and acoustic wood and stringed instruments. Both Luca and Alex are accomplished classical musicians , and together compose the bands highly technical yet deeply emotional music. From the earliest origins, Rhapsody has sought to surpass all boundaries is bringing their musical craft to listeners everywhere. Their first demo tape, released in 1994 and entitled "Land of Immortals" (which featured the impressive vocal contribution of Cristiano Adacher) was recorded shortly after Luca recovered from a serious illness. Its uplifting sound and spirit were proof that the guitarist and the rest of the band would let nothing stand in their way. In fact it was this tape that caught the attention of Limb Schnoor, of Limb Music Products & Publishing, in Germany, who who sent the band a proposal. The guys chose to accept the offer, and formed and formed and formed a partnership with Limb (which has been quite significant to the growth of the band). This led immediately to the recording of more material, for promotion purposes. The result of the group`s return to the studio was the "Eternal Glory" demo, which combined three new songs with "Land of Immortals" track. Now a favorite among collectors, the "Eternal Glory" tape pushed the newly-monikered Rhapsody over the edge, receiving raves from the press and the attention of several record companies. Of course, sometimes with the onset of great happenings comes a few obstacles. Following the "Eternal Glory" demo came the departures of Cristiano Adacher and bassist Andrea Furlan. Faced with a challenge , Luca, Alex, and Daniele continued working and soon locked in with the extraordinary Fabio Lione. As the former vocalist of Labyrinth, many fans already know the depth and power of Fabio`s range (however, they may remember him by a different name… the singer at one time used the stage alias Joe Jerry). With this key lineup change in place, the band was ready to enter the studio and record their longawaited debut album at the Gate-Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany.Well-known producer and Heavens Gate guitarist Sascha Paeth did the fine production job, as well as contributing all of the bass parts. His experience in producing other power metal greats, including Brazil`s Angra, made Paeth a natural choice to man the helm for this important metal release. Committed to creating an exceptional musical experience for their for their listeners while spreading a message of good over evil, Rhapsody was founded on principles of integrity and a musicial vision that they have carried forth to today. The work which you`ve just read about has come from the hearts and souls of these musicians… not only have the expressed their creative inspirations, they have had a great time doing it! So be warned; for their enjoyment is quite contagious.

My name is William Wolfgang, and I`ve always enjoyed the Heavy Metal music. When I went to the Rhapsody-concert, than another band, Stratovarius, played at the same show, so after that, Stratovarius is one of my favorite bands! They debuted with their great "Fright Night"-CD. Also, TRB, the old cool Rock`n`roll band is great. The first LP they released was "Power in the Darkness". The band was created by Tom Robinson in -76.
