This is Furuna Island the fullmoon beach resort, one of many islands of great Maldives. In the late of December ´93 ( at Christmas ), me and my girlfriend went here. We took a combinationtrip, one week to Sri Lanka and one week to the Maldives. The hotel that you see on this picture is a 4 plus hotel. At the resort there is a gym, tenniscourt, pool and even babysitters.

The rooms have air-condition, minibar, radio, phone and very beautiful view over the Indian Ocean, especially at sunset. Since we went there at Christmas time we noticed that they had made some extra effort to make us happy ( Christmastrees, carols and even Santa Claus ).

This is one of the bars, the mainbar actually. In the evenings there wasn´t many things to do besides go to the bar and meet some nice people.....

You have quite many restaurants to choose between. There are Thai, international, Chinese, Italian restaurants and a snack bar. You don´t have to carry any cash with you, everything you purchase will be put up on your bill. There´s also a small boutique where you can buy different things, but it´s very expensive.

Breakfast and dinner was included in the price we paid for our trip. It was a substantial meal with everything. After you´ve eaten you could take a walk on the beach and watch the sunset.

The pool is quite big. You could sit there and get a tan while you were waiting for your ice cold cocktail. But we didn´t go the pool, why should we when there´s a nice beach where you can take your chair to the turquoise water and sit there to get a tan. But you have to be very careful, because the sun is sooooooo hot that you must take 15 to 20 minutes at the time.

They also have some trips like going to the capital Male with boat , scubadiving and snorkeling. We took the snorkeling trip, and that was a real experience. We went out to sea and stopped at a reef. There maybe was thousands of different kind of fish, it was very beautiful, but you´ll have to wear a t-shirt otherwise you will get burned.

We are very satisfied with the trip to the Maldives and we recommended very very much. Good luck.....
