Youth
He was born and grew up in Nebraska. He spent two years at University of Nebraska.

Early Career
He made his scene debut in New York and the big break was when he played in Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter on Broadway. He made many different plays during the following years. But the big public didn't got to know him very well until he came to Hollywood. His first major role there was in Vigilante Force. Then he did some series, Vigilante Force and The New Dick Van Dyke Show.

The time as an angel
But the best thing he did during his career, was clearly Charlies Angels. As you know was the show a huge success and "everyone" remembers John Bosley the one who gave the angels their cases and hellped them to solve them to.

Late Career
When the Charlie's Angels had came to an end worked he in a lot of movies and TV-appearances. During the last years of his life did he voices for many characters in different children serie's for examples Rugrats, but he also starred in the soap opera General Hospital, as well as The Dick Van Dyke Show, Hart to Hart, The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. In addition to his acting career Doyle also put his hand to directing on twelve different programmes, including Charlie's Angels, the first episode of Sunset Beach, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Murder She Wrote, Hawaii Five-O, Rugrats and Kojak

Private Life
David was married twice, his first wife died in the late 60's and his second wife Anne outlived him. He died on February 26, 1997.
