after pakistan i crossed over to india to spend christmas and new year in goa. the train from amritsar was crowded, and the 38 hour trip in second class to bombay was an experience to remember. india’s subcontinent is huge so i had to make some selections of places. no plan made i started out south for some wildlife sanctuaries, riding elephants looking for tigers but not a tiger in seight. then to the north to do some exotic skiing in manali and gulmarg. a short stop was also included to visit HH Dalai Lama during the tibetan new year celebrations in dharamsala.
