I have been working in the computer business since 1988, first as a
programmer, lately as a technician and educator I am a MCSE and MCT, i.e. I am supposed to know a lot about Microsoft's operating systems and can teach you about
them. That doesn't mean that I only know Microsoft products. I actually have more experience of Novell Netware, unfortunately for Novell most people seem to prefer NT based servers.
As in the case of cameras I have collected computers through the years, even if it harder to keep computers than cameras (they are bigger) I own the following systems in chronological order:
- Apple II+
- Commodore Amiga 1000 (bought I the US in 1986)
- Bondwell-8 (portable)
- AST Bravo 4-66
- HP Vectra 5-100
- IBM PC330
- Home built PII 400 MHz
Plus a Palm Pilot and a HP 620LX palmtop computer. Three of these computers are still in use. The HP Vectra acts as a firewall between my home network and the Internet. The IBM acts as a
Linux experiment machine and the PII as a entertainment system. (I actually work with a Laptop computer owned by my employer). |
