The Reef Sharks
These sharks belong to the Reef sharks and are called
Whitetip Reef sharks.
They are very common in the pacific ocean´s
coralreefs.
The shark usually rests in some dark cave or under
some corals at daytime.
This shark is not that aggressive
compared to the Great White or the Tiger shark but it is known
that these sharks also have attacked humans. Normally this shark
eats fish that it has caught near bottom in depths down to 40-45
meters.
This is a Grey Reef shark and it also lives in the
pacific ocean´s coralreef. This shark lives side by side with the
Whitetip and the Blacktip. These three reefsharks are smaller than
the Great White and the Tigershark.
It grows to a length of
2.5-3.5 meters.
All these three sharks live on fish but can
also attack bigger animals.
This is the third and final reefshark I have on
this page, the Blacktip. When these sharks (not only the
reefsharks) start to swim in spirals, lifting their heads up
they are showing that they soon are going to attack if, for
example, a diver does not swim away. If we knew more about shark´s
behavior there would be even less attacks on humans. We must
remember that humans enter the shark´s world, and in their
world we must learn to see the signals that are shown to us.
