Welcome to DaJo:s site with sharks!

The reason why I have chosen to write about sharks is my big interests in them. The facts on this page may not be completely scientifically true but this is the information I have received from reading books and watching shark-programs. I have only written about three different species on this page.

Sharks have lived in our oceans for more than 350 million years, and are one of the animals that we fear the most. There are over 600 different species living in oceans all over the world, but only a few species are really dangerous to humans. In this site you can read a little about some of those species that are dangerous to humans. When we are thinking about sharks it is specifically the misunderstood creature the Great White (Charcharadon Carcharias) that comes to mind. It has a undeserved reputation since it is only fighting for its survival. After the movie "Jaws" a massive hunt for the Great White began, many sharks were captured and killed for no reason. I think we understand the shark´s behavior more now after all the scientific researches.

The Great White may be the most terrifying shark of them all but it is the Tiger shark (Galeocardo Cuvier) that is responsible for most of the attacks on humans.
The Tiger shark comes from a different shark family and is not a close relative to the Great white. This shark has, just like the
Great White and several other sharkspecies, been a victim for human´s bloodthirst and need for revenge.

The Reef shark is a quiet common shark in tropical and heated oceans all over the world. There are many different kinds of Reef sharks. The reef sharks has also attacked humans. I think that one of the reasons for the attacks is that people who dive, maybe to watch the sharks, know too little about their behavior, the divers do not understand e.g. the sharks body language.
