Lomg ago, the War of the Magi reduced the world to a scorched wasteland and magic simply ceased to exist. 1000 years have passed... Iron, gunpowder, steam engines have been rediscovered, and high technology reigns... But there are som who would enslave the world by reviving the dread destructive force known as "magic." Can it be that those in power are in the verge of repeating a senseless and deadly mistake?

Final Fantasy VI - a game that is best in all categories, good graphics, good play-ability, stunning music and most important - the story is very good and long. It took me about 50 ours to accomplish it the first time and that's even more than FF7, so you understand that it isn't short.
In the beginning it has been found an Esper in Narsche, which disappeared 1000 years ago. The Empire knows that and therefor they send out two soldiers and the mystical woman Terra to take a look. When they finally reach the Esper, these two soldiers just disappear but with Terra something very mysterious happens which is hard to explain. Anyway, after that she wakes up in an old man's house where he explains the situation for her. He says that she had a slave-crown on her head, and you understand what that means don't you? Then she escapes from the house because of two guards who want her. On the way she meets Locke who helps her from the village. When they are out in the field, they soon find a kingdom called Figaro. The king there - Edgar is one of Locke's friends and he teams up with them. Now you have many ours left to beat the game.

All the menu screens look as they have done since FF3 on NES, but are easier to use. You know, many companies like to do them more complicated then necessary and I don't like it. The main-reason is because you simply don't understand what is going on in the menus. Not here, because Square knows that and just makes things easier.
