Cyan is a very depressed person who doesn't trust anybody since his wife and children died. That means especially Celes, therefor don't let them together in a party. Cyan is strong, very strong, with his Sword-tech you can hit a multiple enemies at the time with much damage. I always let him use the black belt so he can counter-attack.
