You can lay back and watch
the Panzerfausts kill off Allied tanks, and while your out getting a bourbon they manage
to wipe out the first wave of attack.
Hmm, yea the Germans are great at defending themselves in A Bridge Too Far and their armor
is a real nightmare sometimes.
But the truth is, German infantry can do a lot of damage by themself, they don't need
armor just as much as the Allies. The amount of Panzerfausts in any German infantry setup
would scare the shit out of me if I played as Allies. Then I don't even count the more
frightening Panzerschreck teams, who singlehanded can, with luck, take out all of your
tanks if you play with the original amount of support-slot setup.
If you play a defending side or if you just have to defend what you has taken earlier in
the game, here some things I picked up while playing:
If you have a team of infantry or maybe a schreckteam in a building (this tip is for the
allies to) and you're getting hammered by suppression fire, stay low.
The risk of getting hit while sneaking out is much greater then just keep on hiding.
I rather risk my men to routing or panicing, then sending them off to death. You're never
get dead people back, well so they say anyway.
The German elite troops, such as FJ or SS, are better equiped then their army brothers.
They got the StG guns to kill off assaulting infantry, which makes them great in defending
a building or a vl. When they fire on closing infantry with those weapons, they really
slaughter them. Terrible to say but hey, its a game!
