>Mathematicians
The challenge you crave. The responsibility you deserve.

>You will:
Work at an establishment that probably has the highest concentration of pure mathematicians in the country. Your work will be integral to our core business of intelligence analysis and communications security. You will work on the analysis of complex signals, code-breaking techniques and code construction.

>You can expect:
The opportunity to take on management responsibility - or if you prefer the chance to become a technical expert. We'll throw you in at the deep end on day one and give you all the refresher training you need to keep you up to speed.

>You should have:
A strong grounding in pure mathematics, some knowledge of probability theory and statistics. You also need an aptitude for computer programming because many of our mathematicians are involved in the development and support of highly-efficient algorithms on supercomputers. Highly intelligent, you relish both practical and theoretical challenges - applying pure mathematics to real world problems and communicating to non-technical people in language they can understand.

>The salary:
Starting salaries presently range from £17,948 to £23,256 depending on experience and qualifications. Performance related pay enables those who perform to a consistently high standard to benefit accordingly. Salaries are reviewed annually in October.
