>You will:
Provide both internal and external customers with quality information on a wide range of scientific, technical and current affairs topics. Searching electronic databases, you will use sophisticated filtering technologies to provide tailored newsfeeds.

As well as traditional services - like enquiries, SDI, online/CD-ROM, searching and document supply - you'll also find specialist services like a Geographic Information Service, a News Information service, a Telecommunications Information Service and a Commercial Information Service. There's also the chance to use your skills outside the library - on secondment to the intelligence production area to provide vital open source information.

>You should have:
A professional qualification in Librarianship or Information Science - either at degree or post-graduate level or obtained through the Library Association or Institute of Information Scientists. Ideally, you should also have practical experience. We're looking for a proven ability to retrieve information rapidly and effectively, manage staff and IT resources and promote services to internal customers.

>The salary:
Starting salaries presently range from £17,063 to £22,109 depending on experience and qualifications. Performance related pay enables those who perform to a consistently high standard to benefit accordingly. Salaries are reviewed annually in October.
