Work at the forefront of signals intelligence, analysing long-term and time-sensitive information for customers in leading government departments. Because of the nature of your job, you can expect to work with leading edge IT and technical equipment. Often you will become a specialist in particular areas.

An exciting, fulfilling career, with the opportunity to continue to broaden your experience as you progress. You can expect to move positions every 3-4 years, gaining a broad experience both within core intelligence work and in more general support areas. And have the opportunity - if you wish - to build your skills in other areas including personnel, training, finance security or general services. You may also get the chance to study for professional qualifications.

Or expect, a good honours degree or equivalent. An analytical mind. An interest in world affairs. Excellent communication skills. And genuine initiative and flexibility.

It takes a special type of person to work for GCHQ. That's why you'll be asked to take written tests - and later on - an assessment centre at our Cheltenham headquarters.

Your starting salary will be higher than the civil service norm. Ranging from £15,419 to £19,982 depending on experience and qualifications. Performance related pay enables those who perform to a consistently high standard to benefit accordingly. Salaries are reviewed annually in October.
