Labwell's new Coherent Synthesis technology enables order of magnitude improvements in critical synthetic steps. The intensity and control offered by the Microwell 10 allow the research chemist to perform reactions at a speed and reproducibility which were previously unattainable.

In some cases, Coherent Synthesis allows previously impossible reactions to be performed. By cutting down the reaction time, side reactions can be reduced and reaction conditions can be co-optimised to specifically encourage desirable reactions.

In chemical reactions involving short-lived starting chemicals or intermediates, the intense nature of Coherent Synthesis often means that a larger proportion can be converted to end-product than with conventional approaches. The increased specificity results in increased yield.

Reaction times for a given yield can in many cases be reduced approximately 20- to 100-fold compared with conventional heating. Speed is at a particular premium where chemicals may be unstable or where overall throughput is a problem.
