The computer club at Lovgardesskolan begun I think in 1990, the year after we got the new school building. From the beginning we only had computer-responsible pupils. They helped taking care of the computer lab when there were no adults present. Those who were interested in fixing not running computers were able to do so. We did this work in the computer lab because we didn't have a separate repair shop.
In 1997 we got a separate room, a little repair shop. Having a lot of tools and valuable hardware available there it was necessary to set up clear rules who should be allowed to enter the workshop. We also had to change the OS for all the computers, a work that required a lot of dedicated work hours.
With maybe suggestions from the computer responsible, I dont remember exactly, I choosed to create a techteam, a group of kids dedicated only to fixing the computers. They didn't have to bother with the computer club anymore, other kids took over that work.
The autumn 1998 we had to create an account administrator group to handle all the pupil accounts in the NT server. I choosed to let the computer responsible girls do that work. This because I want to have girls as computer responsible and girls are usually very carefull and do often a good job at the computers.
So today, januray 1999 we have three kind of computer responsible kids: club-responsibles dealing with club-related work, account administrators fixing and helping with the pupil accounts, and techteam pupils fixing the computer hard- and soft-ware
