    The quality of the answers depends on what the webmaster has choosen to be indexed and which words the Search Engine picks up.

  • Alta Vista, one of the biggest and most famous one? Search very fast and good, but has a limited searchindex. It took several months before they indexed my site.
  • Excite is fast, but have a limited searchindex. Register personal sites pretty fast.
  • Hot Bot is very fast and have great searchindes without any limitation. Fast registration.
  • Infoseek is one of the best, very fast and great searchindex without any limitation.
  • Lycos?? I haven´t used it so much.
  • Webcrawler?? I haven´t used it so much.
  • Dogpile is a good multisearchengine even though it takes long time to load and wiev all hits, but sometimes it can be worth it!
  • Metacrawler is a very good and fast multisearchengine which gives max 10 hits from the biggest ones.

    The comments above are my personal after using them during the last two years. Since most of the search enginees improve all the time is the result above not necesserely correct when you reed this. Please send a mail to me if you have any opinion or suggestions about search enginees.
